COLONIC IRRIGATION

WHAT IS COLONIC THERAPY?

Colonic therapy or irrigation is the use of warm, filtered water to cleanse the large bowel or colon.

This practice dates from 1500bc. It helps eliminate stored faecal matter, gas, mucous and toxic substances from the colon. Colonics can also help re-tone and reshape the colon. Additional benefits include clear skin, increased energy and mental clarity, fewer headaches with circulatory, immune and weight problems often improving over time.

This form of treatment aims to detoxify the system. Using a careful holistic assessment, individualised care plan based upon evidence gained from research.

These and other problems can all benefit from a series of colonics to detoxify the body and strengthen the immune system.

THE COLON

The colon, situated in the abdomen, is the part of the large intestine extending from the caecum to the rectum. It has four segments:

1. Ascending colon
2. Transverse colon
3. Descending colon
4. Sigmoid colon

Its functions include the completion of the digestive process involving absorption of water-soluble nutrients as well as the sythesis of certain vitamins.

The colon is a major part of the excretory system, responsible for eliminating food and other body wastes and protects us from infection and disease.

To aid this process billions of friendly bacteria inhabit the colon and make up to 70% of the dry weight of the faecal waste. However this balance can be distributed by several factors including stress, pollution, electromagnetic influences, poor food and drink choices, certain drugs, smoking and exposure to toxic substances. This imbalance may result in an increase in transit time of food through the body.

A 1 hour treatment costs £70 and you are requested to arrive 10 minutes before your appointment time to complete a treatment questionaire.

Colonic Irrigation is available here 7 days a week.
