HYPNOTHERAPY and COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

What is cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT)?

CBT is a form of psychotherapy that follows a system of philosophy, namely that people aren't disturbed by the events that happen to them in life, but by the beliefs they hold about those events. Healthy beliefs lead to healthy thoughts, feelings and behaviours while unhealthy beliefs lead to unhealthy thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

CBT works on identifying and changing unhealthy beliefs for the better, thereby changing the thoughts, feelings and emotions they trigger.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a very pleasant and relaxing altered state of consciousness, similar to daydreaming. People allow themselves to enter into these states so that beneficial suggestions for positive change may be given directly to the unconscious part of the mind. Hypnotherapy is therapy in the state of hypnosis.

The unconscious mind is the source of many of our problems and self-images. Our beliefs, habits and behaviours are stored there. But, it is also a tremendous reservoir of our unrecognised strengths and knowledge.

Hypnosis is a natural and effective technique for accessing the unconscious mind, changing our unwanted habits and behaviours and finding solutions to our problems and concerns.
